Before the end of this year, Xiaomi Mi A1 should have received Android Oreo. As an Android One(A1) phone which runs stock Android, it will be among the first Android devices to receive updates from Google. But there's something more interesting.
The Chinese OEM has released a special edition of the Xiaomi Mi A1. It comes in a vivid red color which is the only difference between it and the regular Mi A1 phone - despite carrying the “special” edition tag. This model features the same 4GB RAM and 64GB storage, alongside MicroSD support for up to 256GB. A 2.0GHz octa-core Snapdragon 625 chipset powers the phone.
Xiaomi Mi A1 Special Edition sport a 5.5" LCD display at 1080 x 1920 pixels resolution (FHD). For image duties, the phone has 5MP front-facing shooter, and it also boosts of dual 12MP rear camera; where one offers a wide angle view, and the other shooting with telephoto capabilities. A rear-mounted fingerprint scanner is available, with 3080mAh battery to keep the lights on.
Xiaomi Mi A1 has a total of 4 color variants: the new vivid red, black, gold and rose gold. The Special Edition is currently available only in Indonesia with 3,099,000 rupiahs price tag which should be around $228.
