Before going on with your daily, weekly or monthly internet subscription, its advisable to always check for the best data plans that will suit your lifestyle and pocket. Our major telecommunications operators—MTN, Glo, Airtel and 9Mobile have a lot of bundles, but before activating any, put into consideration the data cap/volume, validity, network speed, 3G/4G connectivity, time base, speed throttling, etc.

Airtel ended year 2017 by scrapping off her unlimited data packages, and they started 2018 by capping free Facebook at 20MB daily. Glo on the other hand increased the price of its data plans few days ago. With all these “changes” going on, one needs to look for the best alternative. For instance, 9Mobile is still offering non-stop free Facebook service compared to Airtel's limited 20MB.

However, while some users are enjoying Glo 4G connection, others are climbing tree just to get 3G service. So, poor network is the major reason why a lot of people run away from Glo - including me. But data-wise, they deserve the number one spot.
Airtel also offers double data for eligible users, otherwise, they have another substitute plan which offers 3.5GB data for just N1500. All these and more makes them sit on the second spot.
With constant complaints about data zapping, poor network, and other issues paralyzing the use of MTN Data plans for internet browsing in Nigeria, the third place suits them.

Which Network is the Best in Terms of Data Plan
- Glo
- Airtel
- MTN
- 9Mobile
Glo
Globacom is arguably the best. Despite the fact that they slashed their data cap by half, no other network could still snatch their "grand master of data" title. 4G LTE connection is also another reason they are on top, including their jaw-dropping data auto-renewal bonus. So far, there has been no report of data zapping too. However, while some users are enjoying Glo 4G connection, others are climbing tree just to get 3G service. Airtel
The way Airtel overtook MTN is a bit surprising. The telco network provider offers pocket friendly data plans with stable connection, which is a big plus knowing that their 4G service is not even active in so many locations.Airtel also offers double data for eligible users, otherwise, they have another substitute plan which offers 3.5GB data for just N1500. All these and more makes them sit on the second spot.
MTN
MTN was once the number one data network in Nigeria with amazing varieties of data plans. But they started losing grounds due to their unscrupulous activities (like stealing customers airtime), coupled with increased price for almost all their data services. NCC's last report showed MTN lost 11.5 million subscribers. With constant complaints about data zapping, poor network, and other issues paralyzing the use of MTN Data plans for internet browsing in Nigeria, the third place suits them.
9Mobile
The once financially troubled telco operator, since it began operation, has always been behind with the poorest data plans in Nigeria. 9Mobile is arguably fast, but why on earth should they be offering just 1GB for 1k in 2018? To add salt to the wound, there have been multiple reports of poor network in some areas and merciless data zapping. So 9Mobile stays in the fourth place. Are you pleased with the ranking?
