MTN XtraCash: 4 Easy Steps to Borrow Real Money and Repay Later

MTN NG is here with a new service called XtraCash which allows users to borrow quick money and payback latter. This is similar to XtraTime and XtraByte: MTN's other loan services that enables subscribers borrow airtime and data respectively. But XtraCash focuses on lending real money.



If you are stranded and out of cash for an urgent financial need, you can easily access the MTN XtraCash feature on your phone using a simple USSD code. Like the telco's other loan services, you have to be eligible by keeping your line active and recharging frequently to be able to use this service. So in a nutshell, it is okay to say that MTN XtraCash is a service that allows eligible customers access short-term Micro Credit loans via a USSD platform from their mobile phones.

How to Borrow Money From MTN XtraCash

With MTN XtraCash, you can borrow amounts starting from ₦5,000 to ₦10,000 based on eligibility.

1. Firstly, dial this USSD code *606#;
2. Then select XtraCash from the list of options in the menu;
3. Now, input the amount (in money value) you want to borrow;
4. Whatsoever amount you borrow will be paid into your Diamond Yello account.

You'll be prompted to create an account if you don't have by dialing *710# - in order to receive your money.

It takes 30 days for MTN XtraCash loan to mature, after-which an interest rate of 15% will be charged. You can pay back simply by recharging or funding your Diamond Yello account. It's also worth noting that 9Mobile has a similar service called KwikCash which offers up to N100,000 naira money loan.
