The Instagram emoji slider lets you ask your friends and followers poll-type of questions like finding out how your friends feel about something or an artist performance etc. By choosing an emoji for your question, you also add a layer of emotional context that helps those answering understand your tone and answer accordingly.

To access this feature and add it on your Instagram Story, simply select emoji slider from the sticker tray after taking a photo or video. You can place it anywhere you like and write out your question, then go ahead and set the emoji that best matches your question’s mood. There are options to pick from a few of the most popular emoji, or choose from your library. You can now share it, where your Instagram friends and followers will be able to respond the slider.

On the other hand, when you see an emoji slider in a story, just drag the emoji to the left or right and watch it animate as you respond to it. Then you can release the emoji and you’ll see the current average of how others have responded so far.

This update that brings along this emoji slider feature has started rolling out on Instagram v44 for iOS and Android. You can download it by clicking on the link that represents your platform.
