How to Combine Two or More Contacts on an iPhone

Have you ever seen multiple contacts on your iPhone that are based on the same person's contact information? Learn how you can combine these contacts to create a single contact. This article will show you how to accomplish this.

  1. Turn on your iPhone and unlock it.
  2. On your iPhone, press the Home button at the bottom. In most cases, this should return you to the set of pre-installed applications on your iPhone.
  3. From the screen, tap the "Contacts" application.
  4. On the list, look for the two contacts you want to combine.
  5. Find the most recent accurate listing.
  6. Select the appropriate listing by tapping it.
  7. From the top right corner of the screen, click the "Edit" button.
  8. Nearly to the bottom of the screen, scroll.
  9. The button labeled "Link Contact" ought to be located immediately above the button labeled "Delete Contact."
  10. Find the additional contact you want to combine with the one you chose earlier.
  11. Check to see if the second contact is the one you want to merge with the first.
  12. From the top right corner of the screen, click the "Link" button.
  13. These last few steps should be repeated until you have successfully merged all accounts.
  14. If you'd like, make any other necessary adjustments to the name or other details.
  15. To save your changes to the new merged contact card, select the "Done" button in the upper right corner.
