How to Successfully Import Contacts from Gmail to Your iPhone

You will learn how to add the contacts from your Gmail account to the address book on your iPhone in this procedure. If your iPhone does not already have a Gmail account, you can either add one or enable contacts from an existing Gmail account.

  1. Open the Settings app on your iPhone. Tap the icon in the Settings app that looks like a grey box with gears on it.
  2. Select Accounts & Passwords by scrolling down. On the "Settings" page, it's about a third of the way down.
  3. Select "Add Account." It's not far down the page.
  4. Click Google. This option can be found in the middle of the page. A Gmail login page is displayed as a result.
  5. Enter your email address here. Enter the Google account-associated email address. If your phone number is associated with your account, you can also use it.
  6. Click Next. It can be found in the page's bottom-right corner.
  7. Enter the password for Google. Put it into the box in the page's middle.
  8. Click Next. The Gmail account will be added to your iPhone and the account's settings page will open.
  9. Check to see that contacts are turned on. You are prepared if the switch to the right of "Contacts" is green. If not, enable contacts by tapping the white "Contacts" switch in the image caption.
  10. Click Save. It can be found in the screen's upper-right corner. Your Gmail account will be saved and its contacts will be added to the Contacts app on your iPhone.
