With the recent influx of big battery smartphones, fast charge support is also a neccesity. Any device without it will take an awful long time to get fully charged. You might have heard of Quick Charge: a fast charging technology designed by Qualcomm, but South Korean OEM—Samsung is introducing a mind blowing technology, which will give you 100% full charge in 12mins.

On Tuesday, Samsung's Advanced Institute of Technology (SAIT) announced that it has developed a unique battery material that can charge mobile devices and electric vehicles five times faster.

The material includes a single layer of carbon atoms from graphite, known as graphene, which is "100 times more effective than copper in conducting electricity." It also transfers energy "140 times faster" than silicon used in current lithium technology, which makes it an ideal material for fast charge.

Samsung further claimed that the new technology could fast-charge a battery in 12 minutes and will be able to hold 45 percent capacity than a lithium one which takes an hour to charge-up even with quick charging technology.

Amazingly, Samsung has found a way to mass produce the material at an affordable price. However, no time was given as to when this new technology would be utilized.
