The major purpose of Zuckerberg's visit is the deployment of ExpressWifi in Lagos by Facebook in collaboration with Coollink, which is a Nigerian ISP and System Integrator based in Lagos, Abuja, Port Harcourt and Kano.
The service will be launched this week, although it's already running in some part of lagos such has Ikota Shopping Complex.
WHAT IS EXPRESS WIFI & HOW IT WORKS
ExpressWifi is a new program from Facebook that lets phone owners purchase data from local internet service providers.
You will be able to browse the websites on Free basics for free, but you'll be charged very cheap data rates of N40 for 100MB up to N1,600 for 5GB if you browse other websites. This is only applicable if you're within the Express WiFi coverage.
