Leaked Images of Samsung's Galaxy A9 Star; It's a Fine Phone

Samsung hasn't made any statement concerning the official launch date for the Galaxy A9 Star (SM-G8850), but we now have a number of images and a video allegedly revealing the smartphone’s final design and other details of the upcoming phone, including a newly-added color option.

For the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star, the Korean manufacturer didn't go for its usual design in the hope of capturing the interest of Chinese consumers. Now, an angular dual camera setup is positioned vertically in the top-left corner on the rear just like the iPhone X and Huawei P20. Below it can be found a dual-tone LED flash and a much-squarer fingerprint sensor which has been moved further up the of the phone.

On the front, there is a large 6.3-inch FullView Display with tiny bezels wrapping around it. A 16-megapixel front-facing camera and in-ear speaker occupies the top bezel, and to cap it off, the upper-midrange smartphone will likely feature a dedicated Bixby button, much like Samsung’s recent Galaxy S9 lineup.

Samsung's Galaxy A9 Star pops up in new images revealing white variant

In terms of performance, the processor to be used is not yet known, but it will be coupled with 4GB of RAM and 64GB of internal storage according to recent TEENA listing. Also, the dual rear camera has been revealed to feature a main 24-megapixel lens and a secondary 16-megapixel sensor. To keep the lights on, the Samsung Galaxy A9 Star is expected to use 3,700mAh battery while running Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box.

Like I earlier stated, the release date for this handset hasn't be revealed yet, but it may be available exclusively in China. These images also suggest at least two color variants of black and white.

Google Pixel 3 XL Screen Protector Leaks; Reveals Notch, 18:9 Display

Google is currently working on the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL, and now a photo allegedly showing the screen protectors for both smartphones has sutfaced online – revealing some interesting information in the process. If the image turns out to be legit, then it appears that both models will sport razor thin bezels as expected, and also, the Pixel 3 XL will feature a notch which Google already announced support for in Android P.

Google Pixel 2 XL

Still looking at the image, the number of cutouts on the screen protectors suggests the upcoming flagship Pixel devices will feature dual front-facing cameras. Both models will also have a speaker below the display as seen from the cutouts on the screen protectors. In addition, the pair will come with the reigning 18:9 aspect ratio display, although the Pixel 3 XL screen will be larger than the one on the Pixel 3.

Before last year's Pixel 2 and Pixel 2 XL were unveiled, there were rumours that LG will be responsible for both third-generation Google Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL models. HTC produced the Pixel 2 while LG manufactured the Pixel 2 XL. We haven't heard anything since the initial report that would back this up, so for now we simply don't know if this is true.

The source of the image was originally discovered on Weibo, so take the details above with a pinch pf salt while we await official confirmations from Google. Meanwhile, it may take another four to five months before the Pixel 3 and Pixel 3 XL gets launched, and before then a lot can be changed.

In terms of performance, Samsung Galaxy Note 9 will likely be powered with Qualcomm Snapdragon 845 over in the US while remaining markets will receive the Exynos 9810 chip, which may actually be speedier than the Qualcomm variant. For image and video duties, a variable aperture main camera is expected to be included alongside a secondary telephoto lens, much like the recent Galaxy S9+. However, it’s unclear if any major upgrades will be included.

To cap it off, this upcoming device will run Android 8.1 Oreo based on the latest Samsung Experience UI. The Galaxy Note 9 is rumoured to be unveiled and released by late-July and mid-August, which means that the final version of Android P would still not be publicly available.
