You may have some friends on Instagram who make boring posts and Stories most times, and the last thing you wish is to see them. For this reason, the popular photo/video sharing platform has introduce a new feature called Mute. It lets you silence selected accounts and hide their posts without necessarily unfollowing them.
Once you mute someone on Instagram, you'll stop seeing their posts on your feed, but you can still see them on their profile page and get notified of comments or tagged posts. In addition, they won't know that you’ve muted them.
To access this feature and mute an account, simply tap the menu button in the corner of the post, then you'll be provided with options whether to mute only posts or both posts and stories from an account. Another method of doing this is to press and hold on a story in your tray or from the person's profile, and from there you can choose to mute his/her posts and stories
In the coming weeks, the instagram mute features will hit your Android and iOS version of the app.
