The news and reports of a foldable smartphone has been going round for quite a long time now. But Samsung has finally disclosed that it will be unveiling one early next year, and it has already been dubbed “winner” according to a tip-off by the Wall Street Journal.
The same source goes further to provide us with the rumored specs for the phone: It is expected that this foldable device will sport a folding screen of 7 inches when opened fully, where the screen can also be completely folded in two. A "small display bar" will be placed at one side, and the camera on the other side when the phone is folded that into half.
Unlike the ZTE Axon M which actually folds but uses hinges, the technology used in this Samsung model is expected to be different from that of the former which makes analyst believe that the phone will be priced at around $1,500.
Samsung will likely first produce the phones in small quantities to see how it would be welcomed in the market. Many are still skeptical about this new foldable phone to be unveiled by Samsung.
