Galaxy Tab S9 Will Be Equipped With IP67 Certification

Samsung also wants to stand out in the tablet market, so it will make its next flagship tablet water and dust resistant.

The South Korean company is not only famous for its smartphones and foldables, but also for its line of Galaxy Tab tablets, which it has been reproducing for years with excellent sales success. This year Samsung has decided that its next Galaxy Tab S9 will be able to count on a feature that until now it had never integrated into its high-end models, namely the IP67 certification, which will make the device more resistant to water and dust. The company only uses similar certifications with its rugged tablets, such as the Galaxy Tab Active Pro for example.

According to SamMobile, usually a very reliable source when it comes to the Seoul giant, the next Galaxy Tab S9 could become the first top-of-the-range tablet from Samsung to be equipped with IP67 certification, which will certify its resistance to water and dust. Its debut is expected within the second half of this year and will probably also have other features out of the box.

Currently, however, we know very little about the possible technical data sheet of the new model, but we expect a tablet with a very high-quality display, a fast processor, and the inevitable support for the S-Pen. In fact, the current Galaxy Tab S8 features an 11-inch LPTS TFT display with a resolution of 2,560 x 1,600 pixels and a refresh rate of 120Hz.

The Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen. 1 SoC guarantees an excellent performance, accompanied by 8 Gigabytes of RAM and 128 or 256 Gigabytes of internal memory. The photographic sector is equipped with a 13 Megapixel main rear sensor accompanied by a 6 Megapixel ultra-wide angle sensor, while the front camera is 12 Megapixel. The equipment is completed by a 5,800 mAh battery with support for 45 W fast charging.

Based on this, we can assume that the Galaxy Tab S9 could be equipped with the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 8 Gen. 2 chip, which we have already seen in action on the Galaxy S23 family. We just have to wait for more details to find out the complete technical specifications of what is now the direct competitor of Apple’s iPad Pro.
