HMD Global is cooking up a successor to the Nokia 8, which is the Nokia 9. This smartphone features premium specifications and has a classy look, thanks to its bezelless design.
Nokia 9 sports a 5.5-inch AMOLED display at 1440 x 2560 pixels resolution, with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phone will be available in four color variants; blue, steel, gold blue, and gold copper, and it is IP68 certified, meaning it is dust, water and scratch resistant.
For image duties, Nokia 9 features Zeiss-branded camera with dual 13-megapixel rear shooter and 13-megapixel front snapper for lovely selfies and video calls. This makes the smartphone one of the best for photographers with the enhanced image editing features. The Video recording is at 1080p @ 30fps.
In terms of memory and hardware, Nokia 9 has 4GB RAM and 64/128GB inbuilt memory, which assures users of smooth multitasking. The phone is powered by Qualcomm Snapdragon 835 processor, it is actually an Octa-core (4x2.45 GHz Kryo & 4x1.9 GHz Kryo) coupled with Adreno 540 GPU, same as it predecessor.
To keep the lights on, Nokia 9 will use a non-removable Li-Ion 4000 mAh battery. The phone runs Android 8.0 Oreo out of the box, it supports dual SIM and 4G LTE network of many bands. As for the price and availability, Nokia 9 will cost $750 in the US which is about N200,000 in the Nigerian market and about Rs. 40,000 in India. The phone is expected to be launched towards the end of 2017.
