YouTube Tackles Instagram TV With new Monetization Option

Despite the fact that video creators on YouTube already have a solid way to monetize their contents, the popular video sharing platform is set to release yet another system to help vloggers and other content creators on the platform to earn more moeney. This new monetization option will be mostly beneficial to those who have YouTube channels with huge followers, and it is very similar to what Facebook announced for group admins to profit.

YouTube's new monetization option is called Channel Membership, where viewers will have to pay a monthly recurring fee of $4.99 (N1800) to get unique badges, new emoji, members-only posts in the Community tab, and access to unique custom perks offered by creators, such as exclusive live streams, extra videos, or shout-outs.

According to YouTube, this new channel membership feature will be available to channels with more than 100,000 subscribers, while channels which base in the United States with more than 10,000 subscribers will also be eligible. The Google-owned company—YouTube, in partnership with Teespring, is also offering creators an easy method to design and sell merchandise as twenty items will be available for customization.

YouTube Premieres

In addition, YouTube is also prepping the release of Premieres – a new way for creators to upload content to YouTube, which allows creators share pre-recorded videos as a live moment. The company is also set create a public landing page to ginger viewers for a new content when creators want to release a premier video.

The new Super Chat and Channel Membership will work with Premieres. Also, few days ago, we reported that YouTube was revamping its messaging function with loads of renamed tabs.

It seems YouTube is packing all these new features to destabilize the recently launched Instagram TV from gaining grounds. IGTV is a new feature which comes with its own seperate app, allowing 60 minutes long videos with monetization options in line. Will this actually work?
